The Chief of Staff in the office of the Deputy President Ken Nyauncho Osinde has died.

Osinde passed away on Friday while receiving treatment at the Nairobi Hospital following an illness.

The director of communication in the office of the Deputy President Emmanuel Talam confirmed Osinde’s death.

Osinde was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday after becoming sick of an undisclosed illness.

His family had made a public appeal for blood donation for him through social media.

After many years in academia as a lecturer, he took up the post of manager at the National Bank of Kenya, where he rose to the position of Head of the Strategic Planning Group.

Osinde played a major role in Kenya’s insurance industry as he worked in the insurance industry as CEO and director of the College of Insurance.

The deceased also worked as a manager at the National Bank of Kenya where he rose to the position of Head of Strategic Planning.

Osinde was appointed ambassador to Germany by retired President Mwai Kibaki in April 2010.

He took part in the inauguration of the maiden direct flight from Mombasa to Berlin.

He was also responsible for representing Kenyan interests in Romania and Bulgaria.

Osinde was instrumental in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election in 2017.

He replaced Maryann Keitany to become chief of staff at Harambee Annex and was serving his second time in that portfolio.
