A police officer in Changamwe, Mombasa County has committed suicide, leaving behind a sad note addressing his family and his superiors

The officer is reported to have hanged himself with a rope from a ceiling of a house.

Constable Oat Chaani thanked his boss and told him to treat his death as a normal one since he never wanted to live anymore.


Chaani also urged his colleagues to organize Harambee in which the money to be collected should be given to his colleague Sgt Maina.

He also called upon his friends to pay the debt he owed to one lady who gave him Sh17,000 and Sh50,000 respectively.

Cases of police officers taking their own lives have been on the rise. On Tuesday, Benson Imbatu of Kabete Police Station killed six people before turning the gun on himself.
