Maendeleo Chap Chap Party leader Alfred Mutua who is also eyeing the presidency in 2022, has accused his ANC colleague Musalia Mudavadi of copying his political strategies and slogans.

Speaking during a meet-the-people tour in Machakos on Wednesday, Dr Mutua claimed Mudavadi had been replicating his ideas and slogans openly.

The governor has challenged Mudavadi to get his own original ideas.

"In the past one year, my supporters and I have noticed that every time I go public with an idea, a concept and even part of my manifesto, a few days or weeks later, Mudavadi, comes out and says the same things or attempts to replicate what I have done," he complained.

Mutua claimed Mudavadi picked one of the quotes he used during the launch of his 2022 presidential bid.

"When I was announcing my candidature, I said clearly that Kenya needs a ‘safe pair of hands.’ A few days later, I saw you saying 'Kenya needs a safe pair of hands' copying me," he claimed.

The Machakos county boss also called out the ANC party leader for reportedly applying local slag sheng, copied from him, to target the youth in campaigns.

"I recorded a video in sheng targeting the youth, the other day he (Mudavadi) was also struggling to speak in sheng," Mutua opined.

“But please, Ndugu Musalia, tunafaa kuchorea usoro zingine ati tunacopiana hata maformular. Mbogi zingine zinacopy mpaka ideas. Hiyo si vako, haidai tu. Ukijitambua, pia ucome na ma idea zako lakini zangu chorea. Ama, pia ukikwama, unaeza dandia #FreshnaMutua nikupeleke na Rieng,” he added in jest.

Mudavadi is yet to respond but recently released a video in which he appealed to the youth to back his 2022 presidential bid while speaking in sheng.
