The Law Society of Kenya President Nelson Havi has officially joined William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA).

Deputy President William Ruto and a host of other UDA party members, including Jackson Mandago, Kimani Ichungwa, Rigathi Gachagua, Aden Duale, received Havi to UDA at the DP’s Karen home on Monday.

“Good to receive lawyer @NelsonHavi, the President of the Law Society of Kenya, who has declared interest to contest the Westlands parliamentary seat on a United Democratic Party ticket,” Ruto tweeted.

Havi hopes to vie for the Westlands parliamentary seat in 2022 on the UDA ticket.

He had made his interest in vying for the Westlands parliamentary seat in the 2022 general elections public in May this year in a video recording he shared online.

“I have accepted the request of the people of Westlands Constituency to serve them and the nation in that capacity of an MP effective August 2022 or earlier in the event Parliament is dissolved,” he said.

Havi will battle it out with Kenyan YouTuber, blogger, social media personality, and radio presenter Arthur Mandela, alias Xtian Dela for the Westlands parliamentary seat.
