The ODM leader Raila Odinga has promised Malindi residents that he will refurbish the Malindi Fishing Port once elected the president in the next year's general election.

Odinga said the move will seek to revive the already dying economy while addressing his supporters in Malindi.

Odinga's move to the coastal region came amid plans by certain leaders from the region to form a political outfit that will address the interest of residents.

The former prime minister also accused DP Ruto of pretending to be a good samaritan to the poor, yet he looted tax that would have changed the lives of Kenyans.

Odinga said the money being donated by Ruto to church leaders are some of the stipends that the government had allocated for various development activities.

Aside from reviving the Malindi Fishing Port, Odinga promised to expand Malindi Airport to generate employment for the locals.

He urged the residents of Malindi to support his 'Azimio La Umoja' promising to stabilize the economy for small and medium enterprises to carry out their business activity.

Odinga was accompanied by a section of coastal leaders, Mt.Kenya leaders, and several legislators who accused the second in command of failing President Kenyatta's administration in delivering his promises to Kenyans.
