3 children die in fire while father is away on night guard duty

Three children have perished after a fire broke out in Kapseret area of Uasin Gishu County Sunday night. 

The three were burnt beyond recognition while their father, who is a night security guard, was away from the house on duty. 

Efforts by relatives and neighbours to rescue the minors from the inferno proved futile, with a relative, David Sadia saying the fire was too fierce and spread fast consuming the whole house. 

The cause of the night inferno is yet to be established even as the father mourns the loss his children and all his belogings. 

The incident was confirmed by Uasin Gishu County Commander Ayub Gitonga, who said the bodies of the deceased were moved from the scene to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. 

Meanwhile police have launched an investigation into the fire.
