Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has called on all Kenyans to allow leaders seeking various elective posts to visit all parts of the country to sell their ideas without intimidation and violence.

Mandago has condemned any form of violence in politics terming it as counterproductive.

Mandago said the responsibility of leaders is to initiate programs that will benefit every Kenyan regardless of his/her political stand.

His remarks come hours after COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli urged leaders to stop organizing young people to throw stones at leaders when they visit their opponent's stronghold.

Atwoli said Kenya has come from very far and politically people should mature and enjoy the freedom of speech and association.

Atwoli called on politicians to play peaceful elections that can be emulated by other African countries in the region.

The flamboyant SG urged Kenyans to prevent themselves from organizing any form of violence against a certain opponent.

Their sentiments come a day after the motorcade of DP Ruto was stoned in Kondele, Kisumu county during his campaign.
