The 2021 Devolution Conference which was postponed in August will now take place between November 23 and 26 in Makueni County. 

Chairman of Council of Governors Martin Wambora has confirmed that the stage is set and the steering committee is currently holding meetings with partners to discuss partnership and modalities.

Wambora said they have received a clearance letter from the Ministry of Health requesting all participants to be fully vaccinated.

“We received a letter of clearance from Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe with specific requests which we shall ensure we adhere to, to the letter,” Wambora said.

The governor also confirmed that more than 3000 delegates are expected to grace the event which will be held at Makueni Boys High School in Wote.

The theme of the conference will be “Level Governance for Climate Action, sub-national mobilization in unlocking the full potential of climate action in the post-COVID-19 era.”

The conference was supposed to take place in August but was postponed due to increased cases of the Coronavirus.
