Employees working in Mombasa County have been ranked unhappiest in Kenya in the latest report released by a local employment recruitment advisory agency.

According to the report released on Wednesday by Brighter Monday, those who work in the coastal county polled did not like their jobs and were unhappy in their working stations.

The report also revealed that Kisumu County had the happiest employees, who were happy with their jobs while those in Nairobi remained neutral about their happiness at work.

The survey sampled 1,760 respondents from Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and other major towns across the country.

The Brighter Monday report also revealed that men are slightly happier with their employers but pose a slight flight risk than their female counterparts.

Overall, 90 per cent of respondents believed their job satisfaction would increase their productivity.

According to Brighter Monday CEO Emmanuel Mutuma, the contributing factors to the responses are economic development in various cities or regions within the country.
