Mike Sonko has accepted the Supreme Court’s ruling that paved way for the swearing-in of the Deputy Governor of Nairobi County, Ann Kananu.

Sonko took to his social media accounts to throw in the towel just hours after the Supreme Court made the monumental ruling.

He said God’s timing is the best and a time would come when he will be of service to Kenyans once again.

“I concede defeat by accepting the Supreme court's verdict this afternoon. God's timing is the best and a time will come when he'll give me another chance to serve Kenyans in any capacity,” Sonko tweeted.

The former Nairobi County boss expressed his gratitude to the people and committed to continue working for them.

“I concede defeat by accepting the Supreme court's verdict this afternoon. God's timing is the best and a time will come when he'll give me another chance to serve Kenyans in any capacity,” he added.

88 members of the Nairobi County Assembly impeached the embattled ex-governor on December 4, last year and has since been battling to stop the swearing-in of Kananu to take over the gubernatorial position.

Sonko signed off his statement of conceding defeat by a popular Swahili colloquial "TWENDENI TUKAPIGE SHEREHE SASA" which translates to "now let's go party".
