Students who burn schools and buildings will not receive Certificates of Good Conduct, the government has announced.

Education Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Sarah Ruto and Principal Secretary (PS) Julius Jwan have warned that any student who burns school will be declared a criminal.

Dr Jwan, while at Mauta Primary School Mbita Sub-county during a tour of schools in Lake Victoria Island, in Homa Bay county, said the students will be arrested and charged to court.

He further said students will not acquire certificates of Good Conduct when they need them.

His sentiments come after nearly 40 students across the country are in police custody as the government embarks on disciplinary action against those responsible for the unrest witnessed in the past month.
