The body of the last student who drowned in the river Kathita, Marimandi has been retrieved.

This is after two bodies, two ladies and one gentleman were retrieved yesterday.

The four students had gone swimming at river Kathita before the tragedy struck.

According to Marimandi police station OCS Robert Masilla, a total of six students had drowned but only two of them were saved.

Masila has confirmed that investigations have been launched to ascertain what transpired before the incident.

A former student leader in the university Kiongozi Kusaa said this is the second time that students are drawing.

In 2019 died in the same river.

Those who lost their lives were three first-year and one second-year student.
