Sierra Leone is in mourning after a massive tank explosion that killed almost close to 100 people in the Capital Free Town.

The accident happened after an oil tanker collided with the vehicle.

This accident happened at the junction outside Giocharm Supermarket and the densely populated suburb of Free Town, the flames then spread burning people and cars and on-road nearby.

At least 100 people have been treated and for severe burns, the majority being street vendors and motorcyclists many of whom were caught in the flames trying to retrieve the fuel.

Hundreds of people gathered on Saturday morning to search for missing bodies.

Video footage showed burnt-out tankers and track some still smouldering.

Accidents with tanker tracks in several parts of Africa Kenya being one of them has previously killed scores of people who gathered at sites to collect spilt fuel.
