President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again reminded Kenyans that security is not a responsibility of the government alone, but everyone has a duty to ensure our country remains peaceful and secure.

He said these two variables contribute to the realization of a prosperous and cohesive country that we all wish for.

The head of state was speaking at the Moi Barracks Recruits Training School (RTS) in Eldoret, during the passing-out ceremony of Kenya Defence Forces officers.

Kenyatta urged Kenyans to cooperate with security agencies and report any threat to our nation that may come to their knowledge.

''I urge every Kenyan to cooperate with our security agencies. Kenyans must have the courage to report any threat to our nation that may come into their knowledge,'' said Kenyatta.

The president lauded the responsibility that Kenyan Forces have done in various missions, including the United Nations Security Council.

Kenyatta reminded the newly graduated soldiers to discharge their duties with honour and courage.

"From here, you will report to your respective service to begin your career. May your mantra from this day forward remain notably; country duty, honour, and courage," said Kenyatta.

Kenyatta said that Kenya boasts as a country with forces that are well equipped and superbly trained military that can deliver results across the variety of its missions.

His sentiment comes as the county tightens security along its borders because of the ongoing unrest in the neighbouring countries.

The event was also attended by the cabinet secretary for Defence Eugene Wamalwa and the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, among others.
