Bungoma Senator and Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula has promised Kenyans to expect a political tsunami in the country ahead of the 2022 general election.

The Senator made the remarks at the Bomas of Kenya during the national delegates conference where he was crowned as the party's flag bearer ahead of the general election.

After his controversial appointment by the NDC as the party's head, Wetangula promised he will ensure that Kenya is recognized globally as a peace-keeping nation.

“This is a party where democracy thrives. Once elected president, I will ensure Kenya takes its stage in the world scene as a peacemaker in the region and globe,” Wetangula said.

However, his appointment was dismissed by Kanduyi Member of Parliament Wafula Wamunyi who accused Wetangula with his close factions of going against the court orders.

"We are aware that the other faction is going ahead to hold an NDC in total violation of a court order. This is the kind of people we’re dealing with," Wamunyinyi said.

On Thursday, Wetangula was appointed as Ford Kenya presidential candidate at the Bomas Of Kenya, an event that was attended by his co-principals of One Kenya Alliance (OKA).

During the event, one person was shot and seriously injured for allegedly trying to interfere with the event.
