Youth in Kakamega county have clashed over Sh1 million allegedly donated by Deputy President William Ruto.

The event occurred during a press conference organized by Isukha South Member of County Assembly Farouk Machanje who is an ally of Ruto.

The chaos erupted as Machanje promised to stop Boni Khalwale from winning the Kakamega gubernatorial seat in next year's general election.

The youth accused Khwalale of not giving the residents Sh1 million given by DP Ruto to help small-scale farmers in the county.

"I'm here as the MCA of Isukha South, and we want Khalwale to come out and account for Sh1 million Ruto donated to help our youth and women," Machanje said.

Machanje noted that Khalwale is not suited for the county's top seat and urged Ruto to consider giving the UDA ticket to another aspirant.

"I'm asking my friend DP, kindly look for someone else and work with him for the Kakamega County gubernatorial race. Khalwale is a no. He is a political broker," he added.

The MCA was forced to end his press conference after police were called to restore sanity.
