Former Gichugu MP Njogu Barua has finally joined the UDA party associated with DP William Ruto.

Receiving Mr. Barua, Ruto said in a statement that Barua and his supporters believe in the bottom-up economic model.

“The Bottom-Up Economic Model is deliberately and purposefully designed to calibrate our country’s policies to enhance productivity and competitiveness of small businesses, creating opportunities for millions of enterprising Kenyans at lower cadre to make a living and thrive,” Ruto said.

Barua ditched The Service Party associated with former MP Mwangi Kiunjuri just a day after Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru joined decamped from Jubilee.

Earlier Ruto had met Church leaders from Murang’a County at the Karen Residence, as his bid to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta gathers momentum.

Ruto is expected to tour Kaiti and Kilome in Makueni County to popularise his Presidential bid and is expected to hold rallies at Mukuyuni, Enzai, Sultan Hamud among other areas.
