Details have emerged in court in connection to glaring discrepancies in the academic credentials of Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi.

Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has testified in court that the code appearing on Sudi’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) does not belong to the school he purportedly sat for the exam.

The KNEC head of records and archives Nabiki Kashu testified before Chief Magistrate Felix Kombo, in a case in which the Kapseret MP was charged with forging his KCSE certificate.

Sudi presented a certificate from Highway Secondary School yet the code on his certificate belongs to Parkland Secondary School, according to the senior KNEC official.

Nabiki also said Sudi’s name does not appear in the KNEC database as having sat for KCSE exam in 2006 at either Parklands Secondary School or Highway Secondary School.

The MP has also been accused of forging his diploma certificate in Business Management and purported it was a genuine document from the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM).

Nabiki told the court KNEC received a letter from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) dated September 17, 2015, asking it to find out whether Sudi sat for KCSE in 2006 at Highway School.

“We were asked to find out whether such a candidate sat for KCSE in the year 2006 at Highway Secondary School in Nairobi and was awarded certificate serial number 3381074 under index 401006/081,” said Nabiki.

According to Nabiki’s testimony, she checked the records and found that code 401006 that appears on Sudi’s certificate belongs to Parklands Secondary School, yet KNEC records had 401005 as the code for Highway Secondary School.

Furthermore, Nabiki clarified to the court that there was no school with the name Highway High School, as it appears on Sudi’s certificate in the 2006 KCSE.

He also revealed that the index number 401006/081 was rightfully held by one Obaje Bob Onyango, who sat the 2006 KCSE exams at Parklands Secondary School.
