Deputy President William Ruto has now clarified why the embattled Kirinyaga governor Ann Waiguru decided to join his hustler nation movement.

Taking to his Twitter account, Ruto said Waiguru and other notable leaders from the region joined his side after realizing that they share the same agenda.

''The growing belief that there is a need for an economic paradigm shift is encouraging. more leaders are appreciating that the Trickle-Down economics has not worked in our country; it is time to embrace the revolutionary Bottom-Up Economic Model that will empower millions of ordinary Kenyans," Ruto said.

Kirinyaga County Assembly Speaker Anthony Gathumbi and a section of Kirinyaga MCAs also decamped to UDA.

Ruto's statement comes after having a meeting with Waiguru at his Karen residence.
