A 14-year-old class six pupil has killed another 10-year-old schoolmate over a meal of ugali and Kunde in Navakholo, Kakamega County.

Richard Omanga, the Navakholo OCPD, confirmed the unfortunate incident.

According to the police report, the 10-year-old victim was looking after their cattle when his 14-year-old neighbour attacked.

The events that culminated in the death of the minor started when the victim treated himself to the meal that the older neighbour intended to eat in his absence.

When the class six pupil arrived back home from school, he was informed that his 10-year-old neighbour had eaten his food.

It seems the boy did not take that lightly as he went out in pursuit of his neighbour seeking to avenge over his meal.

When he found the victim, he reportedly pushed him and bludgeoned his head with a blunt object, killing him instantly.

After killing his neighbour, he dumped the body into River Simakina, then went about his business.

His guilty conscience could not leave him in peace because when he arrived at school on Friday, he informed his teachers what he had done.

He led his teachers to the scene of the crime and the body was found in the river.

Police said the body suffered serious head injuries and was moved to Kakamega Referral and Hospital mortuary.

The boy was put in custody as police continue to investigate the case.
