The Head of State President Uhuru Kenyatta has made new appointments in government agencies.

In Uhuru’s new appointments, former Attorney General Githu Muigai has been reappointed to Council of Legal Education as its non-executive chairperson.

The KANU Secretary General Nick Salat has been appointed the chairperson to the Agricultural Development Board.

Other notable individuals appointed by Uhuru include Andrew Musangi who has been appointed to the Public Procurement Regulatory board and Kathleen Openda who has been reappointed as the chairperson of Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.

Renowned defence lawyer and former Director of Public Prosecution Kioko Kilukumi has been appointed the chairperson of Energy and Petroleum Tribunal.   

The president also appointed the following individuals to plum state jobs:

  1. Ben Oluoch Olunya, chairperson, Export Processing Zones Authority.
  2. Dorothy Kimeu, chairperson, Special Economic Zones board.
  3. Dr Andrew Kiplagat, chairperson, Kerio Valley Development Authority board.
  4. Dr Dinah Mwinzi, chairperson, Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute board.
  5. Edwin Kinyua, chairperson, board of directors of the East African Portland Cement Company Limited. 
  6. Eva Adega Oduor, non-executive chairperson, Kenya Accreditation Service board.
  7. James Mureu, chairperson, Micro and Small Enterprises Authority.
  8. Joe Ager, chairperson, National Mining Corporation board.
  9. John G. Msafari, chairperson, Kenya Fishing Industries Corporation board.
  10. Kioko Kilukumi, chairperson, Energy and Petroleum Tribunal.
  11. Nick Nesbitt, chairperson, Capital Markets Authority board.
  12. Patrick Obath, chairperson, Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation of Kenya.
  13. Peter Musei Ntoyian, chairperson, board of directors of the Consolidated Bank Limited.
