Controversial city blogger Cyprian Nyakundi has announced that he got back one of his many Twitter accounts that have been suspended in the past two years for violating the social media platform’s policies.

An excited Nyakundi announced the alleged lifting of the suspensio on Thursday through one of the many Twitter handles he has been forced to open following the suspensions since his main account with more than half a million followers was blocked in 2018.

However, it seems it was a gimmick to get netizens to follow his account that by the end of Thursday had more than 71.6 thousand followers.

The blogger got into trouble in July 2018 after he tweeted photos of a media house boss in a compromising situation with two unidentified women prompting Twitter to suspend the account.

Earlier in the same month, Nyakundi suffered another blow following Twitter’s war on dormant accounts that saw the number of his followers reduce from 1.2 million to below 700,000.

In April 2018, he landed in jail for two nights for posting derogatory remarks against Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, Mike Sonko of Nairobi and then Kenya Power Managing Director Ken Tarus.

The blogger known for posting controversial content on his social media pages and website was arraigned for posts on former Bidco CEO Vimal Shah and the late Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore.

He was once charged in a Kiambu court with posting hate speech against the Kikuyu on social media.
