Isiolo Woman Representative Rehema Dida Jaldesa has warned members of her pastoral community against leaders whose main agenda is to divide them. 

Jaldesa said some leaders sought to split them through the formation of political parties that are not all-encompassing.

She spoke as some leaders from the Arid and Semi-Arid region had said they were keen on forming a coalition with like-minded political parties even as they pledged their loyalty to the government.

She argued that several elected leaders from the region were still in the dark regarding the formation of the party, which has been labelled as the political vehicle of the pastoralist’s community.

Jaldesa, who is an ally of DP Ruto, alleged that some leaders were not consulted or invited in the process of forming the UPYA movement and warned that the move could divide the Borana, who are the majority in Isiolo and Marsabit County.

She said she would reach out to other political leaders from Northern Kenya who were not consulted or invited during the formation so that they can work together.
