Police have in custody a man believed to be behind the gut-churning murder of three me on July 7, 2021 in Junju B Village, Kilifi County.

The long arm of the law reached Robert Mganga from his hideout at Ambuja Court in Tassia Estate at around 10:30 am.

Mganda had previouslymanaged to evade the police dragnet calling for the need of bigger guns. His hunt  occasioned the deployment of the elite Special Service Unit whose sting operation yielded the nabbing of the suspect.

Mganda is suspected to have been the brainchild behind an attack on a 46-year-old Kilifi based businesman and farmer Anverali Mohammed Sidik, a middle aged land agent named James Kazungu and another unidentified individual believed to be Sidik's driver of indian descent.

After the attack and spine-chillin of the victims, the mob set the Toyota Fielder they were in ablaze.

Investigations established that the three victims were on a mission to purchase a piece land in the area and went to see a parcel of land that Sidik had intentions of purchasing.

They were ambushed by a machete wielding gang that mercilessly butchered them to death in the most horrendous manner.

Sources reports say Kazungu pleaded with their assailants in their native language; Kigiriama to spare their lives but his cries only fell on deaf ears as the mob was hell bound to finish them off.

Bodies of the three victims; Sidik, Kazungu and the driver were discovered near Junju Secondary School with deep machete inflicted wounds on their heads and there was evidence that they were dragged on the ground over some distance before being left by the roadside.

Crime Scene Detectives processed the gruesome scene of crime and gathered forensic evidence that was analyzed. The results of the analysis fromthe DCI forensic laboratory led to Mganga as the prime suspect.

Detectives believe that with Mganga's arrest, they will be able to crack open the case as he will assist them with investigations that will lead to the arrest of his accomplices.

The DCI assured the families of the deceased that no efforts will be spared to resolve the murders of their kin.
