Kiunjuri’s remarks follow the recent spate of insecurity and attacks in the region.

He said arming the KPR was the best plan of action to deal with the rising banditry attacks in the region.

The KPR was formed in 1948 to assist the regular Kenya Police in the maintenance of law and order.

The former legislator expressed his concerns ever the increasing instances of attacks even after the deployment of Kenya Defense Force officers to control the situation.

Kiunjuri also called for probing of politicians suspected of propagating the attacks.

The security lapses in Laikipia Nature Conservancy and its environs have already claimed 12 lives and displaced many others.

The Interior CS Fred Matiang’i imposed a 6:00 pm to 6:00 am curfew in the affected region because of the insecurity
