Many creators on TikTok who jumped into the viral ‘milk crate challenge’ and recreated their versions have faced a setback after the big tech company banned the challenge.

The challenge saw people climb climbing a pyramid of milk crates and with only a few coming out successful while the majority ended in disaster.

Lots of videos have shown users getting gravely hurt, or just missing fatal falls by a hair. And as the challenge kept growing, most people continued stacking more crates to a higher level in order to beat the original challenge.

In a bid to curb the multiple injuries, TikTok has taken a positive decision to ban the challenge from its platform after which searching for the trending hashtag will return a “no results found” search.

“TikTok prohibits content that promotes or glorifies dangerous acts, and we remove videos and redirect searches to our Community Guidelines to discourage such content. We encourage everyone to exercise caution in their behavior whether online or off,” TikTok stated.

The platform further noted that they can’t stop people from risking fractures for fun and profit, but can block the trendy hashtags.

“This phrase may be associated with behavior or content that violates our guidelines. Promoting a safe and positive experience is TikTok’s top priority. For more information, we invite you to review our Community Guidelines.” – TikTok

Some people might argue that the milk crate challenge is less dangerous, but lots of people have suffered severe injuries while attempting it.
