Deputy President William Ruto’s blogger Dennis Itumbi has sensationally claimed that unknown people tried to kill him on Friday night.

According to a report he filed at Kasarani Police Station under OB 115/13/8/2021 at 11pm, Itumbi says he was shot at while driving his Mercedes Benz registration number KBU 285F.

In the report, the former State House Director of Digital Communications says the incident happened on Mountain Mall Road in Garden Estate as he headed to Red Sports restaurant to buy his dinner.

According to his report, an unidentified vehicle blocked his way forcing him to hit it then he managed to speed off but he added that he then heard shots fired towards him.

Itumbi says he managed to escape unhurt and later parked his car at Rubis Petrol Station and informed his family members of the alleged ordeal and they alerted the police.

Police say they dispatched a team of officers from Kasarani Police Station led by SSP Peter Mwanzo to the scene where they found Itumbi.

However, no spent cartridge was found at the scene even as police established that Itumbi’s Mercedes motor vehicle had a dent on the front bumper and it was towed to the station.

Police are investigating the matter.
