The former Woman Representative for Kwale Zainab Chidzuga has died aged 65.

She died of suspected COVID-19 related complications at the Nairobi Hospital where she was receiving treatment on Thursday.

The ex-Woman rep. was hospitalized for two weeks after developing heart complications because of contracting COVID-19.

Chidzuga served as Kwale Woman Representative between 2013 and 2017, sponsored to the seat on an ODM ticket.

She later joined Jubilee Party and lost the seat to Zuleikha Hassan, the current Kwale Woman Representative.

Zainab also happened to be the mother of former TV news anchor Mwanaisha Chidzuga.
