Wambui Kamiru, the widow of the late Bob Collymore, wants the media to be barred from covering a succession case on the late Safaricom CEO's property.

Wambui through her lawyer, Njenga Kahura, told the family court that she wanted the case heard virtually without media present.

Collymore's widow had earlier complained of misreporting of the proceedings each time the case was before the court.

She, however, did not disclose from which quarters the misreporting emanated, neither did she mention the exact stories that were not factual.

“I want to ask the court that the matter be heard on camera. It is because all the time this matter comes up, there is inaccurate reporting,” Wambui said through her lawyer Njenga.

Judge Maureen Odero had ordered Wambui and Collymore’s children to appear before her virtually on Thursday to have the former CEO's children allow her to manage his estate.

Odero asked Njenga if he had obtained a signed consent confirming the appearance of the children.

Before his death, Collymore had bequeathed all his assets in Kenya, estimated to run into millions of shillings, to Wambui.
