A middle-aged man died on Wednesday in Maragua Town following what is suspected to be a Viagra overdose.

The man identified as Fredrick Opiyo, aged 50, is believed to have died a few moments past midnight.

Opiyo booked a room into a Lodging in Maragua Town on Tuesday night hoping to savour the benefits his 35-year-old lover’s beauty had to offer.

According to Alex Shikondi Murang’s South Sub County Police Commander, Opiyo got to Rurago Bar at around 9 pm and had his supper.

A damsel later joined him at about 10 pm and the two left for the venue where they intended to give themselves pleasures of their bodily desires.

Opiyo must have been a hygienic fellow because according to the damsel’s statement, Opiyo made straight for the showers immediately after entering their love nest.

Trouble came knocking the moment Opiyo stepped out of the bathroom when he complained of some chest cavity pains.

The lady also followed suit and went in to have a quick bath. As she was taking her bath, the lady heard some groaning sounds coming from outside the bathroom.

She rushed to establish what that was all about, only to find Opiyo gasping for air as he was not breathing properly.

The concerned lady wasted no time and dashed out to alert the establishment’s security personnel and management.

Unfortunately, the rescue party came back a moment too late and found Opiyo had given up the ghost.

A search conducted in the room by police recovered a pack of condoms; one used and the other two intact. Also found was an empty pack of blue pills, Viagra to be precise.

It was not immediately established if Opiyo had used any of the mentioned items.

Opiyo’s body was taken to Murang’a County Hospital where an autopsy will be carried out to establish the exact cause of his ill-timed demise.

Police said they will question witnesses, the damsel and the guest room staff during an investigation into Opiyo’s death.
