Independence party KANU chairman Gideon Moi has reportedly jumped from the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) ship spearheaded by Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula.

Gideon party, KANU is reportedly devising a coalition with Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement ahead of the 2022 election.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s push to have him and all former NASA principals join hands with Raila Odinga ahead of the 2022 General Election reportedly advised Gideon’s move.

In a development that is likely to throw OKA off-balance, KANU big shots have pledged to throw their weights behind Raila Odinga come 2022.

However, Wiper Party’s vice chair Mutula Kilonzo dismissed the reports that Gideon has abandoned the OKA ship.

According to him, OKA principals are scheduled to meet on Tuesday to discuss the fate of the new coalition and people should wait and see if Gideon will be in attendance.

Mutula also said all doors are still open and NASA’s revival depended on what ODM agrees on with the ruling Jubilee Party.

"If ODM teams up with Jubilee, which is in coalition with Kanu, then definitely Kanu and ODM will be in one camp," said Mutula.

ANC’s deputy party leader Ayub Savula also dispelled the claims claiming that Raila also wished to join the OKA bandwagon.

“We want to expand OKA and bring on board as many people as possible for the formation to have a national image. In essence, Raila also wants to be part of OKA,” he opined.

As the 2022 poll draws closer, political parties and leaders have been busy realigning into various camps in their estimations to be better placed to form the next government.
