A total of 17 patients have succumbed to Coronavirus in the past 24 hours bringing fatalities in Kenya to 1,013. 

At the same time, 685 more people tested positive for the virus from 4,433 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The new confirmed Covid-19 cases bring to 55,877 the number of positive cases in the country, with Kenya’s cumulative tests jumping to 699,520.

659 of the new virus patients are Kenyans while 26 are foreigners, coming even as 231 more patients recovered from the disease in the last day.

According to the Ministry of Education, 130 patients recovered from the Home-Based Care Program, while 101 have been discharged from various hospitals across the country.
