Senator Millicent Omanga has been arrested for flouting the curfew rules.

Reports say the Senator was arrested for operating a Wines and Spirits business in Hurlingham.

Omanga was arrested at Hurlingham, Nairobi at around 11:00 pm.

The Kenya Police confirmed her arrest on social media, namely Facebook.

President Uhuru Kenyatta imposed a nationwide curfew to be observed from 10 pm to 4 am for a containment period of 60 days at his last address.

The directive also affected the operation hours of all recreational spaces in the country.

Omanga is being held at the Kileleshwa police station where she is likely to spend the night.
