The Supreme Court of Kenya has dismissed all the election petitions that had been filed By Narc Kenya Party Leader Martha Karua against Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru.

The apex court determined that all the electoral matters raised by Karua had already been concluded earlier in a Supreme Court judgment issued on August 6, 2019.

Waiguru had challenged the decision by the Court of Appeal to remit Karua’s election petition to the High Court for a hearing on merit, albeit it had already been dismissed.

Karua’s petition was earlier dismissed by High Court Judge Lucy Gitari on grounds that it lacked merit.

Justices Philomena Mwilu, Njoki Ndung’u, Isaac Lenaola, Mohammed Ibrahim and Smokin Wanjala all held the same opinion that the issues raised by Karua were identical to those raised in petition No. 3 of 2019.

As such, the judges established that the issues were determined in full by the same court’s ruling delivered on March 2, 2018.

The ruling ordered that all parties follow normal appellate protocol in addressing disputes.
