Britain intends to remove quarantine for fully vaccinated guests from other countries soon.

Britain’s Secretary of State for Transport Grant Shapps made the announcement on Friday just a day after making changes to the rule for the people in Britain who have already had both shots.

“We want to be able to open that up for people. We’re actively working on it,” Shapps told Sky News. “In the next couple of weeks I’ll be able to come forward and say more about other locations in the world,” Shapps said.

Shapps also announced that British residents who have had both shots arriving in England from medium risk countries would not be required to self isolate upon arrival.

He said that Britain will recognize the vaccination status focusing on countries administering World Health Organization WHO-approved vaccines.

He noted that the process was complex owing to the fact that each country has different systems on certification.

Shapps also said that it was easier for the EU because they create their own digital passports as other countries do not have digitized systems.

“It’s easier from the EU because they’re creating their own digital passport, it’s more complicated from other countries – the U.S. for example don’t have a digitised system,” said Shapps.
