A motorist was today shot several times in his car at Ruiru Gwa Kairu area along the Thika super highway by unknown persons.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives confirmed the incident.

The broad daylight incident shocked many, as reports say, a gang of 3 individuals on board a motorbike executed a hit style kind of operation with a lot of precision.

Dorothy Migarusha, the area police boss said that the victim, male had about 10 bullets wounds and is fighting for his life at the Thika level 5 Hospital where he was rushed.

Conflicting accounts by Kenyans on social media who passed by the area immediately after the incident say that the victim died on the spot from the injuries he sustained while some saw him still breathing.

The suspects fled the scene after the incident and are still at large.

There is a rise in crime within the city with the most recent shooting incident being yesterday in Donholm where a middle-aged woman was shot by thugs and left for dead.
