Kenyans have sharply reacted to a video that has gone viral on social media in which a civilian launched an assault against uniformed police officers.

It seems the police were trying to arrest a fellow who appears to be a matatu driver for unknown but was resisting arrest.

Deducing from the voices heard in the video, the police must have impounded the vehicle and wanted to drive it to the police station and the man could take none of it.

Looking on was a crowd of other members of the public who, from the sound of the video clip, were oblivious to the crime being committed right before them.

Some of the onlookers are heard daring the police to kill the attacker, as the others were jeering at the police, who were trying to arrest the man.

According to Section 103 (a) of the National Police Service Act No. 11 (A) of 2011, offences related to assault of police can attract a fine not exceeding 1 million shillings, imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years, or to both.
