It is now apparent that Communication Expert Patience Nyange has set her eyes on the Taita Taveta County gubernatorial seat in the 2022 General Election.

Patience, who draws inspiration from Tanzania President Samia Suluhu, is banking on the youth and women support as she seeks to replace incumbent Governor Granton Samboja, who has served only one term.

She is well known in the Public Relations world for her mobilization skills and she has a strong media grounding, which could play to her advantage as she faces the electorate in her native county.

Patience previously held various national posts including Assistant Director at KNCHR and Communications Advisor at the Ministry of Devolution and Planning and will return to her home county to vie for the top seat.

When contacted by swalanyeti.co.ke, the MCK board member laughed saying she is ready to serve her Taita Taveta County people, who have been pushing her in the recent months to gun for the position.

“Looks like my people have made up their minds about me, I am their child, I can only answer to their call, when the time is ready,” she told Swala Nyeti.

She added, “We’re at a very interesting time globally, and for the very first time, young women must not shy away from leadership positions. When the time is ready, the Lord will make it happen and looks like it’s already happening.”
