Ezra Chiloba, the former CEO of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), has come out to denounce rumours that circulated on social media on his death.

In a post on his official Twitter handle, Chiloba termed as fake news the reports that had been circulating on his alleged demise.

“FAKE NEWS is a global disaster and must be fought from all fronts! Thank you for your concern. I am alright and grateful - as always!,” he posted.

The said reports circulated on social media earlier this week, coming as the former IEBC CEO has been under the radar ever since he was unceremoniously ousted from the poll body.

IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati on October 12, 2018 announced Chiloba’s dismissal saying he had rejected invitations to appear before its disciplinary committee over audit queries.

“This does not come as a surprise to Kenyans who have been monitoring the events at the IEBC in the last six months. The outcome was already predetermined and the process was a mere formality,” Chiloba said then while confirming his sacking.

Chiloba was later to be seen in a story in a local media while tending to his farm in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County, indicating that he had retired to his farm away from the IEBC wrangles.
