The Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General Francis Atwoli has been re-elected as a member of the International Labour Organization (ILO) for the fourth time.

His re-election came during the ongoing 109th Virtual Session of the International Labour Conference (ILC).

Atwoli was among the candidates that received the highest number of votes globally.

He will continue representing the interests of workers on the African Continent for another four-year term.

ILO is a United Nations agency whose mandate is to advance social and economic justice through setting international labour standards.

In April, Atwoli was also re-elected as the COTU Secretary-General for a record 5th time.
