The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have rescued a 4-year-old boy who went missing from his parent’s home in Muranga on June 2, 2021, this afternoon.

The detectives found the young boy at a house in Naivasha after five days of fervent searching.

Liam Ngucwa Mwangi was last spotted on June 2, 2021, in the company of one Charles King’ori aka Delvin Maina, in the Dakim area in Gatunyu, Thika.

Liam’s parents made a public appeal that went viral on social media to anyone who had any information that could lead to finding their missing to provide it to the police.

It is believed that the boy may have been a victim of kidnapping orchestrated by his own grandparents.

Charles King’ori ‘Delvin’ was the family’s houseboy and is believed to have a hand in the boy’s kidnapping.

An elaborate mission by detectives drawn from the Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau and the Special Service Unit rescued the young boy this afternoon.

The police are still in search of Liam’s captors after they narrowly escaped the police dragnet, right before Liam’s rescue.

Liam has been reunited with his parents, who were visibly relieved and were beside themselves with joy after the five-day ordeal of their son’s disappearance.

The police are appealing to anyone who has any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects to provide it through the 'Fichua kwa DCI' toll-free number.
