Detectives yesterday arrested a Ghanaian con artist for allegedly swindling a senior manager at a popular money lending agency; Tala of Sh9 million.

Victor Anane and the manager met on an online dating site where he masqueraded as a miracle-performing man of God.

The manager was enticed by Victor’s claims that he would perform miracles that would see her getting instant promotions at work, and he would also turn her fortunes around if she committed to her in a relationship.

The two lovebirds dated for some considerable time, but things took a drastic turn when Victor invited the manager to his house at Transview Estate in Athi River.

The manager met the shock of her life when she was welcomed into Victor’s house by a ghastly sight of ritualistic paraphernalia that can only be associated with witchcraft.

She demanded an explanation from Victor about what his relationship was with the paraphernalia she found in his house.

The manager realized she was a victim of Victor’s con game and ended their relationship.

Detectives were alerted, and they raided Victor's house where they recovered his paraphernalia, Sh76,000 in fake currency and other materials relevant to printing fake money.

It turned out that Victor masquerades as a preacher targeting innocent women and relieves them of their cash and love with fake promises of improving their lives.

Victor is currently in police custody as he awaits to be presented in court to answer charges of obtaining money by false pretenses.
