Kenya’s biggest mobile service provider Safaricom has launched a 90-days free data campaign for its subscribers.

The campaign will see Safaricom subscribers enjoy free data services daily for a period of 90 days.

The move seeks to encourage more customers to explore their offline passion online and become part of the digital transformation process.

"The campaign seeks to empower more customers to take their offline passions online as part of the country’s digital transformation agenda," said Safaricom CEO, Peter Ndegwa in a statement.

The campaign also wants to ensure that all Safaricom subscribers come on board and enjoy internet services.

“The 90-day free data campaign seeks to ensure that no customer is left behind by ensuring that all our customers can now access the internet, even at no cost,” added Ndegwa.

To activate your free data, dial the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) *544# and choose the first option.

The country has realized a shift in communication methods and more people are relying on the internet for their daily communication activities.

Most companies are also adopting the ‘Work from home’ policy as a measure to curb the spread of the coronavirus. More data has been used recently for virtual meetings, online submission of work and online lessons.
