The incident caused a traffic snarl-up on the Kanduyi–Malaba highway as the bodaboda riders sought help from the Police and Kenya Power.

His fellow bodaboda riders are demanding compensation from The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) since the deceased has left behind a young family.

They faulted KPLC for sleeping on their job and asked the area Governor, Hon. Wycliffe Wangamati and the entire County Assembly of Bungoma to not only focus on the collection of revenue but also look into the matters affecting all sectors.

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company acknowledged the unfortunate incident and is cooperating with the police with the investigations of the incident.

KPLC also emphasised that they are committed to ensuring the matter is concluded rightfully.
