Justice Koome was nominated by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) from 10 candidates who were shortlisted and interviewed for the position of Chief Justice.

Koome has experience in the legal profession spanning about 33 years.

The Speaker said the August House will also consider reports by the Committee on Delegated Legislation on exemption of income tax for Japanese companies.
