The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on Wednesday announced that it had nominated Justice William Ouko to fill the vacant position of judge of the Supreme Court of Kenya.
JSC announced it had settled on the President of the Court of Appeal and forwarded his name to President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointment after a parliamentary vetting process.
The nomination follows 3 days of public interviews, by the commission chaired by Prof Olive Mugenda, of the 7 candidates who had applied for the vacant position at the apex court.
The Supreme Court Judge position fell vacant following the retirement of Justice Jackton Boma Ojwang' in February 2020 after attaining the constitutional mandatory retirement age of 70.
