Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) has informed commuters using the Nairobi Railway Terminus of a test run of dropping passengers at the newly built Green Park Terminal.

The test run set for Tuesday 6:00-9:00am and will see normal PSV pick up and drop off services affected at the Nairobi Railway Station frontage before it resumes indefinitely.

The Green Park Terminal, formerly Lunar Park, is part of decongestion strategies by the NMS headed by Major General Mohamed Badi under the Nairobi Integrated Urban Development Master Plan (NIUPLAN).

The new terminal constructed by the NMS boasts a police station, supermarket, restaurant, and a Level 2 hospital, which is part of the 24 hospitals newly constructed across Nairobi County.

The Green Park Terminal is expected to be the pick-up and drop-off point for commuter matatus using the Ngong, Mombasa and Lang’ata roads routes as soon as it is officially opened, coming as it opening ceremony has been postponed on several ocassions.

The terminus is meant to help in the process of decongesting the Nairobi Central Business District by ridding it of PSV matatus.
