The Ministry of Health on Friday announced 442 more cases of Covid-19 were confirmed in Kenya out of 5,327 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

The new patients have raised the total number of confirmed virus cases to 40,620 and total samples tested since March to 580,039.

Sadly, Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman announced that Kenya had recorded four more fatalities, increasing the total deaths to 755.

166 more people recovered from Coronavirus, 140 from home-based care and 26 from treatment centres, raising total recoveries to 30,876.

419 of the new Covid-19 patients are Kenyans and 23 foreigners, 286 of them are male and 156 female.

The youngest of the new patients is a three-year-old and the oldest 86.

Nakuru County recorded the highest numbers of new infections with 94 followed by Nairobi with 80 and Mombasa with 47. 

Uasin Gishu recorded 22, Embu and Kisumu 20 each, Turkana 18, Meru 15, Trans Nzoia 14, Kisii 13, Garissa and Kilifi 12 each, Siaya and Kajiado 11 each, while Baringo, Kericho and Kiambu had 10 each.

Taita Taveta had 4, Kwale, Machakos, Migori, Vihiga and Nandi 2 each, while Bungoma, Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot, Nyandarua, Kirinyaga, Kitui, Murang'a, Kakamega and Bomet recorded one each.
