The principal of a secondary school was on Wednesday apprehended while allegedly having sex with a Form 4 candidate girl at his residence in Kuresoi South, Nakuru County.

Kiptagich Location Chief Wycliffe Too told the press that Leonard Baraza, the principal of Chebotoi Secondary School, was arrested by authorities after a tip-off from area residents.

The girl, who claims to be 21, told police that she had visited Baraza’s house immediately she finished her last Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam on Wednesday.

Her parents have been ordered to present her birth certificate for the authorities to be able to ascertain her exact age to determine the next course of action against the principal.

Baraza and the student were briefly held at the Kiptagich Police Station and a medical test conducted at Kiptagich Health Centre confirmed she had engaged in sexual intercourse.

Her parents later released and taken home by her parents to collect her birth certificate while the principal was released on police bond as he awaits to know his fate.
