The death toll in Kenya due to Covid-19 rose on Saturday to 2,206 after 20 new deaths were reported on Saturday.
The Ministry of Health said 4 of the new reported deaths were late deaths reported from facility record audits.
The ministry announced that 1,184 more people tested positive for Covid-19 from 7,139 samples tested in the last 24 hours with the positivity rate standing at 16.5 per cent.
In a statement, the ministry headed by Mutahi Kagwe said confirmed Coronavirus infections rose to 138,077 after the new cases with total samples tested increasing to 1,511,592.
Out of the new Coronavirus patients, 1,146 are Kenyan nationals while 38 are foreigners, with 601 being male and 583 female.

The Health Ministry also announced 220 new recoveries; 177 are patients under Home-Based Care and Isolation and 43 are admitted at various health facilities across the country.
Similarly, 1,582 patients are admitted in various health facilities across the country, while 5,376 others are on home-based isolation and care.
A total of 187 patients are in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) countrywide; 43 are on ventilatory support and 111 on supplemental oxygen while 33 patients are under observation.
